Subject: Charity softball 1936
This film is of the charity softball game held on Aug 16, 1936 between the FDR White House team and Lowell Thomas' 9 Old Men team. (A reference to FDR's moniker for the Supreme Court).

Lowell Thomas' 9 Old Men consisted of well-known figures from sport, media and politics.

The game was played on Thomas' estate in Pawling NY about 50 miles north of NYC. It was a yearly event that benefited the Red Cross, USO, and other charities and causes.

Lowell Thomas is in swim trunks talking to FDR at the end of this film because the day ended with a swim event.
